Local-First Privacy

Your Mac's history belongs on your Mac.

UrMac is designed around local-first monitoring. Core monitoring history is stored locally on your Mac.

Privacy principles

  • Local-first monitoring

Core monitoring history is stored locally on your Mac so investigative context stays where it belongs.

  • Data minimization

UrMac is designed to work with the monitoring data it needs, and to avoid collecting more than necessary.

  • When UrMac uses the network

Monitoring and history work without an internet connection. Ask UrMac will use the network once the AI service becomes available. Purchasing or restoring a plan also requires a connection.

  • Ask UrMac evidence minimization

When Ask UrMac becomes available, it will send only a bounded, structured summary of relevant evidence, and only when you ask a question. Monitoring history itself stays on your Mac.

  • Future optional capabilities

Any future optional capabilities would be described clearly, and designed so you understand what they do before use.

  • This website

The UrMac website uses no analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party scripts. Contact forms are not yet active; when enabled, details you submit will be used only to reply to your message.

These are product design principles. They are not legal claims, and the formal privacy policy takes precedence once published.
